Bruce Roscoe
Yavapai Digital Arts & Photo Club

Born in Burlington Vermont in 1948, Bruce spent his adult life until 1991 in Massachusetts as an Electrical Contractor specializing in controlled wiring in 5 states. Bruce has owned many businesses in the past and also has helped several people start their own business.

Photography has always played a role in Bruce's life. In 1956 his parents gave him a Brownie Bullet Camera for his eighth birthday. The love affair with photography was born. The smell of Bakelite after opening that camera to insert or take out film is still a reminder of days gone by. Ten years later still taking pictures he decided to be professionally trained. The army talked him into working for them in the photo field. Taking pictures of kings and queens and traveling around the world sounded like a lot of fun! After intense training with a Speed-graphic and learning darkroom skills, he was told his assignment wouldn't be as glorious as he thought. Off he went to serve in Vietnam  from 1967-1968 as a combat photographer.

Today his love affair with photography lives on.  Bruce, as Certified Professional Photographer, studied portraiture with The New York Institute of Photography, is a member of both The Professional Photographers of America and The Arizona Professional Photographers Association. He spends his days as a trip leader with Arizona Highway Photo Workshops, and is the owner of Aiyana Studio of Photography in Prescott Valley. His specialty is sculpturing with light producing heirloom portraiture of the young and elder people along with Audio Video Life Stories.  Bruce also enjoys photographing families for wall portraiture.

In March he won the best of show, first place, and third place from ACCC. (Arizona Camera Club Council)  One of his images has been selected by the 2012 Centennial committee to represent the Navajo for Arizona's Centennial.

Bruce, a Certified Professional Photographer, has received many awards, and among them are:

Top Ten Photographer Of The Year Award 2012 AZPPA (Arizona Professional Photographers Association)
Top Ten Photographer Of The Year Award 2013 AZPPA
